Just taking a few minutes while I am awaiting my call to assessment.
Unbelieveably, I was still offline at home until just before I left this morning - despite a new router, and a new line to the DSL socket.
In the end it was Tony, plugging and unplugging, and changing lines, and trying the router in different sockets, that eventually activated the connection. He has put a little box over it now (in case some passing breeze with hob-nailed boots might disturb it.
Well, my assessment material is as ready as it will ever be.
AFTER ASSESSMENT
Just (another 'just') to say they were lovely and complimented me on the work and on the presentation.
Now I am going home to write the rest of that one and a half page essay - yes really - that's all it is when you use a small narrow font and three columns on a page, 2000 words is only a page and a half!

Sorry folk. Still no upload! See what I said about Murphy's law!!

Tuesday - still not sorted on broadband
This is getting worse! Was on to UTV this morning, thinking it would take two minutes to retrieve my password which seemed to be corrupted. Two hour, three modem/routers, trials, errors, and a drop in the phone line and still NO CONNECTION. G-r-r-r-r-
Anyway, came late into college and took part in the project peer evaluations. Got a new idea from Anelle's self-pictures of her body. What I thought was that these lovely images showed me that self photography isn't necessarily about conventional viewpoints. Yes, I would want to have a beautiful image, and one that is technically sound, but I now realize that conventional viewpoints are dispensible - in fact unconventional viewpoint can add to the image.
So I have been working on reducing the size of the video I tried to upload yesterday. I now have it down to only 5.9 Mb. But now another snag - wouldn't you know! The version of Safari on the computer I am using doesn't allow video upload to Blogger. so I have to transfer to another computer.
Well That's another lesson to learn - Murphy's Law x 10 applies to any kind of technology!

One whole WEEK later
One whole WEEK later - I can't believe it!\
My broadband is still off at home - don't ask! Maybe I'll get it sorted tonight .....
So what have I done with my project?
Well I have made a small video of me writing/drawing with both hands. This will be part of my final piece. I particularly like the soundtrack which happened serependipidously (if there is such a word) when I speeded up the video, the background chatter in the studio became a perfect symbol for the tension and incomprenhensibility on my brain.

I took pictures of cars from the bus, edited them, wasn't keen on the results, re-took more footage from the footpath outside the college, and didn't like those results either. May find a way of doing something different if I get time.
I had an excellent session on After Effects with Mark on Thursday, and got more help from him on Friday.
On Friday, I took pictures of my profile in silhouette. Used the 10 sec delay, so was able to do the job myself.

Second video idea
I was at a loss as to what I was going to put in the second small video. Then last night, my daughter suggested that I use Laocoon as a basis. I feel good about this idea. My plan is to be blindfolded, and listen to instruction of what to draw on a taperecorder.
(to convey the idea of having to blindly take orders from others about my visual culture essays.

The plan for the final piece is coming together.

There will be five elements:

There will be five elements:
- The picture of Lacoon which will fade, disappear, and reappear
- two silhouette 'windows' each with a video of writing Left the Blindfold, Right the 2-hands
- Two narrow horizontal strips, Top strip cars travelling Right to left, Bottom strip
- selection of peaceful photos.
