One whole WEEK later

One whole WEEK later - I can't believe it!\
My broadband is still off at home - don't ask! Maybe I'll get it sorted tonight .....

So what have I done with my project?

Well I have made a small video of me writing/drawing with both hands. This will be part of my final piece. I particularly like the soundtrack which happened serependipidously (if there is such a word) when I speeded up the video, the background chatter in the studio became a perfect symbol for the tension and incomprenhensibility on my brain.

I took pictures of cars from the bus, edited them, wasn't keen on the results, re-took more footage from the footpath outside the college, and didn't like those results either. May find a way of doing something different if I get time.

I had an excellent session on After Effects with Mark on Thursday, and got more help from him on Friday.
On Friday, I took pictures of my profile in silhouette. Used the 10 sec delay, so was able to do the job myself.

Second video
idea
I was at a loss as to what I was going to put in the second small video. Then last night, my daughter suggested that I use Laocoon as a basis. I feel good about this idea. My plan is to be blindfolded, and listen to instruction of what to draw on a taperecorder.
(to convey the idea of having to blindly take orders from others about my visual culture essays.

The plan for the final piece is coming together.
silhouette BW

There will be five elements:
  1. The picture of Lacoon which will fade, disappear, and reappear
  2. two silhouette 'windows' each with a video of writing Left the Blindfold, Right the 2-hands
  3. Two narrow horizontal strips, Top strip cars travelling Right to left, Bottom strip
  4. selection of peaceful photos.
